About Fife's Coastal & Inland Areas

The Kingdom of Fife sits in the lowlands of Scotland just north of Edinburgh and south of Perth.
Sunbeam Cottage is located in the East Neuk of Fife, an area famous as the home of golf and well known for its stunning coastal fishing villages and 14 glorious award-winning beaches.

St Andrews, the home of Golf is just a short drive, or bus ride, from Sunbeam Cottage, and well worth a visit, this very attractive old town is buzzing with local life, holiday makers and, during term time, students (members of the royal family have been educated at St Andrews) with an excellent choice of eating venues. On the edge of the town is a stunning beach and the historic Abbey ruins.

Along the coast you will find the picturesque villages of Anstruther, Pittenweem, Elie, Earlsferry, Lower Largo, Crail St Monans and Culross. There are many inland locations to visit including Falkland with a palace , Ceres which is home to a Highland Games event in the summer, Craigtoun country park, Dunferline where you can find the grave of Robert the Bruce at the Abbey, to name a few.

If you have the time and energy the FIfe Coastal Path is a wonderful walk. Taking in 81 miles of this fanstastic coastline you would need to approach it in stages, however walking just part of the path is well worth the effort. Sunbeam Cottage is situated just a few meters from the path.
